Linguistic Description of Lexical Features of Persian Women and Men Text Messaging Dialogue

Abstract

This study surveys the linguistic difference between men’s and women’s text messaging. For this purpose, researchers has collected text messages from different people and compared SMS transferred between women and women, men and men, women and men, men and women. The question to be asked is, what is the lexical feature of women and men’s text messaging. For this purpose, we survey some lexical features such as adjectives, intensifier, hedges, modifiers and taboos. Results reveal women and men’s texting does not have significant differences lexically.
