Corpus linguistics is a new approach in linguistics which despite its short life, has achieved an outstanding position in Linguistic research. This achievement is above all due to the rapid development in information technology and computational tools. Considering the important role of corpora in contemporary linguistics and the novelty of corpus linguistics in Iran, it is an undeniable need for researchers to be introduced to various applications of corpora in different fields of linguistics. Therefore, the present research aims to study the applications and advantages of corpora in four fields of linguistics: lexicon, grammar, pragmatics and translation studies. The results show that language corpora have such an essential role in these research fields that is reminiscent of Tognini Bonelli (2010) and Hanks (2012) who used the term“Corpus Revolution”.
