By examining political texts, we can reach efficient descriptions of language. In this study, the Experimental Metafunction was investigated in the text of the speeches of the two former presidents of Iran, Rouhani and Ahmadinejad, from the perspective of Halliday and Van Dijk. According to results, the number of material verbs used in Ahmadinejad's speech is much more impressive than Rouhani's; On the other hand, relational verbs are dominated in Rouhani’s speech. The participants in Rouhani's speech are often selected from the crowd, but Ahmadinejad has a more specific stance than Rouhani. In the Grammatical Metaphor section from the Experimental Metafunction point of view, Nominalization and Transitive Metaphor were discussed. In the speeches of both presidents, most of the verbs that participated in this process were of material type. But the important point in Rouhani's speech is their co-occurrence. As in the vicinity of their neighboring words, they lose their material and active state. In the transitive metaphor section, Ahmadinejad, by expressing news sentences in the form of interrogative sentences, has caused a double emphasis on certainty and extreme realism in words. Meanwhile, no clear example of this approach was seen in Rouhani's words.
