The concept of Code-switching refers to the transfer of linguistic elements from an embedded language into a host or matrix language, and its analysis within the Matrix Language Frame model has received considerable attention. The present study examines Persian–Kalhori Kurdish bilingual structures within this model. One important issue in bilingualism research is the description of different levels of code-switching and their possible outcomes. In this model, doubling and islanding are considered responses of the linguistic system to code-switching; however, the simultaneous occurrence of these two processes within a single bilingual construction is theoretically impossible. Nevertheless, analysis of Persian–Kalhori Kurdish bilingual data reveals the co-occurrence of these processes. This study investigates the reasons for these patterns within the framework of Distributed Morphology. The linguistic corpus consists of four hours of informal conversations among Persian–Kalhori Kurdish bilinguals. Participants include 15 male students aged 10 to 13 and a 49-year-old female teacher. The research adopts an analytical descriptive approach. The findings indicate that shared phonological features between morphemes of the embedded and matrix languages and the inadequacy of certain principles of the Matrix Language Frame model contribute to these bilingual patterns. These results suggest the necessity of revising some principles of the model
